Have a Hair-free Day!
Where have you been all my life?!
I know you’re wondering, “How does it work?” Let me explain, laser hair removal is targeted to remove unwanted hair for both men and women. A concentrated beam of light is directed and gets absorbed by the pigment in the hair itself. The heat from the laser penetrates down to the root, which in turn, dramatically reduces the hair from further growth. This method of hair removal is the only proven cure for ingrown hair and razor bumps.Laser hair removal will leave your skin feeling smoother, looking younger, and most importantly, #hair-free!
PRE / POST LASER TREATMENT
How do I prepare for a Laser Hair Removal Treatment?
For about six weeks prior to treatment, you should avoid tweezing, electrolysis or waxing. Discontinue use of any exfoliating agents such as hydroquinone, retinol and glycolic acid products seven days prior to your appointment. On the day of your treatment, skin should be clean-shaven and thoroughly cleansed of any makeup, creams, oils, topical anesthetics or self-tanning products. Always apply SPF30+ while outdoors prior to your treatment to avoid tanning the treatment area. Do not expose the treatment area to direct sunlight or tanning booth lights prior to or immediately after the treatment. If you have a history of herpes simplex virus (cold sores), a prophylactic antiviral therapy may be required prior to treatment.
Are there side effects?
Permanent side effects are rare and may include redness, swelling, hyperpigmentation, hypopigmentation, blistering and purpura (laser bruise) in the treated area – these usually do not last more than a few days. Your technician will have more information about potential side effects.
What precautions should I take after treatment?
After your laser treatment, prevent sun exposure by applying an SPF30+ and reapply if outdoors for extended periods of time. In the first few days after treatment, do not scrub or rinse the treated areas with abrasive skin cleansers. Your technician may advise additional precautions. You will be provided with an aftercare sheet at your first appointment.
